Fort Hays Tech | Northwest Scholarships
Fort Hays Tech | Northwest College Presidential Scholarship
The Presidential Scholarship Application is open to any 2nd-year students (must have completed two consecutive full-time (12+hours) semesters at Fort Hays Tech | Northwest) with a GPA of 4.0 for both semesters.
The applications will be narrowed down to four (4) and be scored based on their answers. The top scorer will receive $5000, 2nd place will receive $2500, 3rd place will receive $1500, followed by $1000 for the 4th place score.
In the event that first and second place scores tie, the $10,000 will be split between the first & second highest scorers. No third or fourth places will be awarded.
Applications are due on or before June 15, 2024
Fort Hays Tech | Northwest Service Area Scholarship
We will be awarding a guaranteed $500 scholarship to ANY student from the 17-county service area who meets the 2.0 GPA requirement. The scholarship will be applied to the Fall 2024 semester. This is a new scholarship designed to recruit, train, and retain students from Northwest Kansas with the hope they will plug back into the area communities.
Fort Hays Tech | Northwest General Scholarship
In order to be considered for scholarships, you must currently be accepted as a Fort Hays Tech | Northwest student. If you are not, please visit our website to apply and submit your application fee. To ensure consideration for funding for the 2023-2024 academic year please submit your application by the priority deadline, March 1, 2024.
The Kansas Promise Scholarship Act provides service scholarships for students to attend an “eligible post secondary educational institution” in specified programs. Read more about what is takes to be eligible.
Bernal-Mora & Nickolaou Annual Single Parent Scholarship
Be single parents (mothers or fathers);
Be accepted into an accredited post-secondary school; and
Complete our online application and submit an essay.
Dane Hansen Vocational Scholarship
Awards made available to high school seniors in Northwest Kansas who seek educational opportunities in a vocational program.
Career Technical Workforce Grant
Preference will be given to students with financial need, and awards will be based on enrollment in programs that are high cost, high demand or critical industry fields.
DevTeam.Space STEM Scholarship
A $1,000 scholarship to be used towards your educational and professional development goals. You can spend this on anything from coding boot camps to online programming courses, textbooks, etc, Deadline March 1st

Worldstudio Foundation, in conjunction with AIGA, the professional association for design, provides scholarships to minority and economically disadvantaged students who are studying design and arts disciplines in colleges and universities in the United States.

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation
The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation is the nation’s oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships to military children. Founded in 1962 by Gen. Martin F. Rockmore USMC (Ret.), the Scholarship Foundation has provided more than 33,000 scholarships valued at nearly $90,000,000 since that time.
Scholarship worth $500 up for grabs for a Medical Assistant student every year. To determine who gets the grant, the candidates will have to submit a short 300-400 words essay.

Ladies Auxiliary VFW
The Ladies Auxiliary VFW is pleased to present scholarships to assist members who wish to further their education by pursuing a college degree or career direction at a technical school. Spouse, daughter, and son of a member are also eligible to apply.
The Kansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (KACRAO) offers scholarships to reward students who have demonstrated quality leadership during their high school years. There are four $500 awards available each academic year, which may be used at KACRAO member institutions. The scholarships will be designated as follows; one per school type: four-year public, four-year private, community college, and technical college. The awards are not need-based and may be used in conjunction with other awards.

For graduating Kansas high-school seniors planning to attend any Kansas college.

The TicketHelp Safe Driver Scholarship is open to all United States citizens who have had a driver’s license for at least 1 year. In addition, you must:
Have been accepted and committed to, or currently enrolled in, an accredited college or university (must present a student ID, if applicable)
Have a minimum 2.8 GPA
Have no tickets or incidents on your traffic record for the past 3 years
How to Apply
To apply for the TicketHelp Safe Driver Scholarship, please submit your online application, as well as a copy of your transcript and your driving record. Visit your local Department of Driver Services or Department of Motor Vehicles to learn more about how to obtain your driving record.
You must also submit a 500- to 1,000-word essay

AWS Foundation: Praxair International Scholarship
The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to those individuals demonstrating his/her leadership abilities, and interested in pursuing a career in welding engineering or welding engineering technology.
If you are a self-starting, determined individual with leadership and work experience from Cheyenne, Decatur, Gove, Logan, Rawlins, Sheridan, Sherman, Thomas, or Wallace counties you are encouraged to apply.
- All applicants must be enrolled, or due to be enrolled, as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited US college or university for the semester that they are applying to receive the scholarship.
- Applicants are not required to have a minimum GPA.
- Domestic, international, online, and undocumented students may apply
Russ Babb Memorial Scholarship
The Kansas Respiratory Society is formed to: Educate, advocate, and promote the profession and practice of Respiratory Care.
We're looking for undergraduate and graduate students who can display their unique use of creativity, art, or design within their major.
Please see the Application Submittal Form below where you will be able to enter your artist's statement and upload 3 examples of your work.
Our Scholarship Committee will consider artwork across all mediums.
Veteran Recognition Scholarship
OurMilitary.com, a Valor Worldwide company, was founded to help active service members, veterans, and their families have access to current information and resources. We work each day to provide our visitors with valuable resources to assist military communities.
To help further support our military and their families, we have created a bi-annual scholarship for students that are either an active service member or veteran, a military spouse, or the child of an active service member or veteran.
Victims of Drunk Driving Scholarship
The victim of a drunk driving accident;
The child or dependent of a victim of a drunk driving accident; OR
The spouse of a victim of a drunk driving accident. Be currently attending or have been accepted to an accredited college or university
Have a 3.0 GPA or higher
Kansas Construction Education Foundation. Open to those in the construction field. January 31st deadline.

Off-Campus Part-Time Job
Goodland businesses hire Northwest Tech students for part-time work. Jobs may be from 5 – 30 hours per week. It is recommended you put in job applications several weeks prior to your starting date.
WIA: Work Investment Act
Applicants must meet financial guidelines established by WIA. Students must apply for assistance before beginning classes. Call WIA Representatives: 785-462-6862
Service, Education, and Re-Training Corp
