Position Title: Welder/Maintenance Tech
Location of Position: Rexford, Kansas

Job Description
McCarty Family Farms is currently seeking a Stainless Steel Sanitary Welder/Maintenance Technician to join our growing company in Rexford, Kansas. This is a great opportunity to join a multistate 4th generation family oriented dairy operation. McCarty Family Farms operates 24 hours per day and this position will require weekend work (every other weekend) along with on call duties as needed.
Job Description:
1. Perform daily maintenance tasks in a food processing plant in a safe manner
2. Sanitary stainless steel pipe welding
3. Provide maintenance support of Utility Equipment and Plant Building
a. Daily PM’s
b. Scheduled PM’s and On Demand PM’S
c. Logs and trend analysis
d. Boilers, Softeners, Air Compressors, and Chiller Packages / HVAC
4. Provide maintenance support of Process Equipment
a. Scheduled and On Demand PM’s
b. Valves, pumps, and piping
c. Evaporator, Cream HTST, and Separator
d. Transmitters and control equipment (VFD)
5. Work with quality, sanitation, and production teams
6. Flexible schedule to support planned maintenance shutdowns based on production schedule
7. On call as needed to support equipment failures on night shift
8. Assist in continuous improvement projects
9. Perform tasks correctly the first time to minimize downtime and rework
10. Assist in inventory management
An ideal candidate must have:
• 5+ years welding experience (TIG, MIG, ARC) working primarily with stainless steel and steel
• Experience welding sanitary, food grade, process piping systems
• Sanitary tube purge welding skills, and knowledge of 3A Standards
• experience fabricating Platforms, Stairs, equipment Skids, piping systems
• Use personally-owned and shop-owned hand and power tools such as welders, grinders, sanding tools, air tools, cutting tools, press brake, shear, punch machines, drill press, etc.
• Install components that have been fabricated such as machined parts, sanitary valves and pumps, etc.
• Operating a forklift (training provided)
Candidates should have these qualifications:
• Must be skilled in TIG welding for stainless steel
• Extreme attention to detail
• Mechanically inclined
• Light carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical skills experience are desired
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work in food plants
• Organized, task-driven, and able to work independently as well as within a crew
Must be able occasionally lift up to 100 pounds
