The J.R. Macdonald Laboratory, Department of Physics, Kansas State University, is seeking a research technician to provide technical support for the experimental physicists in the laboratory. The Laboratory is a world class atomic, molecular, and optical physics research facility that houses state of the art ultrafast laser systems and ion sources. This position involves the construction and maintenance of all vacuum systems in the lab, the design and construction of experimental research apparatus, and overall management of the laboratory physical plant. A degree from a technical college or is required, or four years of experience in a technical field. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in high vacuum systems (further training will be available) and thorough knowledge of machine tools.
