Position Title: Network Engineer-Core Network
Location of Position:  Castle Rock, CO
Job Description:
General Purpose and Scope

Duties and Responsibilities:

Engineering design, integration, and implementation of the SMSC, MMSC, OTA, Voicemail and AAA architectures.
Monitor and forecast platform hardware and software capacity based on KPI trends and marketing forecasts
Determine appropriate growth points and present design options to support growth needs
Operational support of SMSC, MMSC, OTA, Voicemail and AAA
Write, review and implement Methods of Procedure for maintenance and corrective actions of operational issues
Create and maintain detailed documentation and network diagrams support platforms
Create best practice policies and procedures for support of the messaging networks
Analyze root cause determination of issues including recommendations for improvements
Interface with cross-functional engineering and marketing teams for new feature and functionality requests
Engineer and support other systems supported by VAS engineering
Educate and train other individuals in company regarding VAS platforms
Manage platform specific capital and operational expense budgets and procurement activities
Establish and maintain positive vendor relationships to complete any necessary changes to insure existing and new applications function according to specifications
Minimum Job Entry Requirements:

Associates / technical degree in Network / Server / Computer Systems Engineering or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level Engineering / Technical experience
Advanced computer and server administration skills with emphasis on application environments running on Unix and/or Linux operating systems
Knowledge of IP based network Switching / Routing and IP Packet Analysis
Demonstrated ability to combine engineering/technical expertise with business and financial acumen to achieve corporate goals
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work in a collaborative manner to achieve results
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
Strong organizational and time management skills
Attention to detail and ability to maintain focus over long periods of time
Self-starter with ability to work unsupervised or in a team environment
Ability to work on call support as needed
Desired Qualifications:

Knowledge of telephony systems including wireless 3G/4G networks gained through relevant experience, vendor training, and/or college or technical/vocational school coursework
Knowledge of programming, coding, scripting, server administration
Extensive knowledge of Solaris, Unix, Linux, and Windows server operating systems and administration
Knowledge of TCP/IP, SMTP, SNMP, SMPP, ANSI-41, SS7, SIGTRAN, ISUP, and LNP protocols
Knowledge of CDMA Mobile IP, Simple IP, and L2TP data technologies
Knowledge of mobile wireless data protocols
