Apply advanced knowledge of the latest technologies to build, maintain, and support Midco’s product distribution systems


Provide advanced level support of the RF product distribution system by engaging in-depth knowledge of the RF, fiber, HFC, analog and digital Video, and VOD systems, to maintain the network product distribution system.
Ensure that network systems are in compliance with company, departmental, FCC, and FAA, regulations, policies and procedures, and conduct technical audits as necessary to monitor compliance.
Assist in managing internal projects and processes directed toward promoting the health of the overall network. This includes, but is not limited to: Preventive maintenance, Proof of Performance, CLI, and status monitoring.
Ensure that facilities and services are operated and maintained in a manner consistent with the requirements of the services carried on the systems.
Possess an in-depth knowledge of RF, fiber, HFC, QAM modulation, multiplexing, and encryption.
Lead, develop, and manage a maintenance team capable of carrying out the essential elements of Midco’s strategy, standards, policies, and procedures while setting attainable goals and objectives.
Create and manage timely and accurate shift schedules for team members.
Implement and oversee successful training programs for new and existing personnel.
Perform service, repair, or maintenance as required. • Possess knowledge of Midco’s safety program (Target Zero), practice and enforce safety rules and procedures; operate all equipment in a safe manner.
Operate and drive a Company vehicle in accordance with Midco’s “Use of Vehicle for Company Business” policy.
Provide timely performance feedback and daily coaching. Perform annual reviews and effectively manage disciplinary and/or performance problems.
Keep Management up-to-date of Maintenance activities, issues and progress.
Serve as a liaison between the Regional Engineering Manager and Field OPS; build and maintain strong, productive working relationships.
Resolve problems and questions for Field OPS, while providing optimal internal customer service. • Install system components as necessary.
Assist in developing specifications and parameters for the design of cable network.
Coordinate effective testing programs with Regional Engineering and Field OPS.
Compile timely, comprehensive, and accurate reports as requested.
Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers.
Adhere to Midco privacy guidelines to ensure each customer’s privacy.
Maintain regular attendance as required by your position.

Mentor new hires and existing staff as required.

High school diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.
NCTI certifications through Fiber Optics required.
NCTI Advanced Technician certification is required for this position. Employees without current certification must enroll within 12 months of attaining this position.
Minimum two years Maintenance Technician experience (or equivalent) required.


The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 70 lbs.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, risk of electrical shock, and risk of radiation and vibration.
Employees may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.
Must be able to climb poles, ladders, and other structures with proper equipment.
Must be able to work from elevated heights and in tight spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.
