Position Title: Maintenance II – 2nd Shift

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Clean, disassemble, inspect and assemble all braider and winder assemblies and sub-assemblies. 2. Perform repair and preventative maintenance on braiders and winders. 3. Perform the fabrication and rebuild of braider carrier, shuttle, rotor, and axle components. 4. Utilize correct safety practices while performing all duties. 5. Investigating and perform remedial changes to components exhibiting recurrent failures. 6. Ability to use drill press, arbor press, bench grinder, tension scales, calipers, micrometer, and all hand tools needed for repair of carriers and shuttles. 7. Advise Engineering and Maintenance Manager on potential problems and corrective actions necessary. 8. Communicate with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities. 9. Maintain repair logs as instructed by supervision. 10. Requisitioned needed repair pars. 11. Maintain spare parts stock organization.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately. 2. Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner. 3. Maintain production schedules. 4. Work with groups in initiating and implementation of programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S. 5. Other duties may be assigned at a later time
Qualifications
Education required/ preferred: High School diploma or GED Experience: Production work preferred but not required Preferred Skills/Qualifications: 1. Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills. 2. Basic knowledge and use of hand tools. 3. Sound decision making skills. 4. Good math, reading and writing skills. 5. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude. 6. Strong troubleshooting skills. 7. Be able to exercise continuous mental, visual & audio attention. 8. Be able to distinguish audible communication and equipment sounds. 9. Ability to work well in a team environment. Skills/Competencies: 1. Basic computer skills 2. Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action. 3. Vision: Near acuity and accommodation for reading information to perform job tasks. 4. Requires constant alertness to surroundings and product quality with attention to detail. Physical Requirements: 1. Exert 20 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 2. Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently. 3. Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. 4. Must be able to read: a. Machine Dial Gauges b. Drawings c.
