Position Title: Engineering Technician
Location of Position: Kansas City
Job Description
RIC is a growing consulting, engineering, land planning, surveying, and landscape architecture firm that brings innovation and expertise to public and private infrastructure projects throughout the Midwest. The RIC team is comprised of 13 licensed professionals with over 300 years combined experience, who are supported by a committed and talented group of over 30 technical and administrative staff.

Primary Responsibilities
• Develop, design, and modify engineering drawings for infrastructure, roadway and site development projects
• Utilize AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation GEOPAK in plan production
• Regularly communicate and collaborate with the project engineers

• Work effectively and professionally with internal team members and external client personnel
• AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation GEOPAK experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Organized
• Punctual
• Basic knowledge of local engineering design criteria and language
• Able to communicate effectively with multiple teams
• Able to prioritize project deadlines
• Able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated
• Experience in engineering environment or engineering and/or technical coursework

Education Requirements
• An Associate’s Degree or higher in a related field and 2 years of experience with civil engineering software and plan production
• In lieu of Associate’s Degree, 4 years of AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation GEOPAK with specific experience in civil engineering
