Dennis Misurell, was recently honored as the Northwest Tech Employee of the Month for December. Dennis is a Mathematics Instructor and teaches an online Marketing Course at Northwest Tech. Employee of the Month is a new award presented each month to an employee that goes the extra mile to ensure all students acquire the best possible experience at Northwest Tech.
Dennis has been employed at Northwest Tech for six years. He was an originator of the Northwest Tech Business Technology Program.
“Dennis puts in a tremendous amount of time and energy into teaching math to our students,” remarked Northwest Tech President Ben Schears. “He’s in early in the mornings and often doesn’t wrap up with the students until well into the late evening. He cares a lot about the students and is always willing to go the extra mile to help.”
Fellow employees decide on the Employee of the Month award. “Receiving this award makes me feel great. It is a wonderful surprise and I am glad to receive it,” said Dennis. “It has been a rough year for me and to be able to teach is really gratifying. The light is on and the coffee is strong in my lab.”
Dennis also remarked on the advice he would give a new employee at Northwest Tech, “My advice would be to take advantage of what this school has to offer. The opportunities to do things you never do. I came here and had the chance to develop a new curriculum. You will have the freedom to get your job done with our student body. This school develops your pedagogical skills; you can’t help but become a better teacher. I am a better teacher because of it.”
Dennis really enjoys teaching. Dennis has a history of working in the marketing industry. He also ran his own marketing business. Dennis taught at Eastern Wyoming before he became employed at Northwest Tech. He has one son and enjoys cooking, reading and relaxing. One of Dennis’ favorite part of his job is working with students who do not think they can succeed.
