The Computer Graphics Technology program is a comprehensive curriculum that merges art and technology into communication and commerce tools for businesses. Using a unique combination of real life projects, an on-the-job atmosphere and lab instruction. This program helps students acquire the necessary skills to succeed in the graphics industry.
By working in teams and individually, students gain the ability to evaluate their own and other’s work. To prepare them for work in different environments, students learn to work in a variety of industry software, state of the art tools and computers with confidence.
Students will learn to create new innovative ways to communicate ideas, enhance their image, and sell their products and services. This program will prepare students for the wide range of services in this field, from print design mediums such as advertisements, packaging, and publications, to electronic design mediums like web and video to meet this demand.
- Analyze and create designs and communication solutions to generate the best possible solution to design problems.
- Work individually and in teams using the ability to constructively evaluate their own and other’s work.
- Design various types of print projects, functional multi-page website and a short commercial or video using a variety of design programs.
- Organize and maintain records, multiple projects, and effectively use time management skills.
- Demonstrate effective mathematical, reading, writing, and presentation skills.
- Develop a traditional portfolio, a web portfolio. Construct a resume, perform various types of job searches and complete interviews.

Other Program Requirements
Computer Graphics students will be required to have an Apple Macbook Pro prior to the first day of class. The Macbook Pro needs to have been purchased new within one calendar year of the program start date to insure software determined by the instructors can be installed and run properly. Students will not be required to purchase an iPad in addition to the laptop, however, they will be responsible for all maintenance and repairs of their laptop. Any questions regarding the laptop requirements should be addressed to the program instructors.
